Part 2 of When the Fires Were Lit — The Road from Ásgarðr is finally ready.

The road continues. The Shadow remains, the brothers encounter someone who will become important to their journey, and eventually their paths begin to separate. Along the way, we get a little more of Óðinn and Lóðurr as brothers, travelers, and very different men trying to find their way through worlds that are still becoming what they will eventually be.

All culminating in Óðinn meeting a familiar face. What happens there is a story about earth, magic, curiosity, and the things we can learn when we stop trying so hard to understand everything and simply listen. There may also be a little trouble along the way. Because apparently, sending Óðinn into the garden of a woman who knows exactly what she’s doing was never going to end quietly. 😉

It’s me again! Sorry about the late post, holiday duties caused a bit of a delay.

We’ve reached the final chapter in our Norse genealogy series, and it’s time to step into the halls of the Æsir. This episode follows the family lines from Borr [BORR] and Bestla [BEST-la] through Óðinn [OH-thin], Frigg [FRIG-ga], Thor [THOR], and the generations that shaped the myths we’ve been exploring together over the past several weeks. Along the way, we untangle relationships, examine what the surviving sources actually tell us, and spend a little time with some of the quieter figures who deserve far more attention than they usually receive.

As always, we’ll separate the lore from modern interpretation, acknowledge where the sources fall silent, and leave room for thoughtful UPG without pretending it replaces the old texts. Genealogies may sound dry on paper, but they’re really the framework that allows the mythology to breathe. Once you know how everyone is connected, the stories themselves begin to unfold in entirely new ways.
