Here is a second option for bringing in a quick morning and evening prayer. This can be done right before any usual deity or spirit invocation or simply on its own.
Daily Morning (try to do this shortly after waking. Go ahead and wash your face, grab a coffee/tea, get your mind and body moving so your words don’t slur. 😊)-
Stand, or sit, calmly. Take three deep breaths to center and ground. Speak the following:
I call to the House of Mundilfæri, the reckoners of time,
Lords and Ladies of the lightened hours hear my recognition and praise.
Hail to Mundilfæri, whose hall sets the courses.
Hail to Dellingr, bringer of the dawn – throw wide your doors for the new day.
Hail Dagr, who brings the hours for what may be done.
Hail to Glenr, opener of the clouds.
Hail to Sunna, keeper of the light that renews and illuminates.
I awaken my body and soul to new beginnings.
Guide me through the day ahead.
Carry me rightly through this turning,
Let what I need recognize its time and manifest.
Hail to the House of Mundilfæri!
Daily Evening (after you complete your evening rituals of pajamas and brushing your teeth, and right before climbing into bed) –
Stand, or sit, calmly. Take three deep breaths to center and ground. Speak the following:
I call to the House of Mundilfæri, the reckoners of time,
Lords and Ladies of the darkened hours hear my recognition and praise.
Hail to Mundilfæri, whose hall sets the courses.
Hail to Skúma, soft light between – keeper of the annals of time.
Hail to Nótt, bringer of nightfall, she who gives us sweet dreams.
Hail to Aurvandil, the ray of light that shows the way.
Hail to Máni, keeper of measures, mover of tides.
I soften my body and soul for needed rest.
Grant me dreams of calm and insight.
Carry me gently through the whispers of night.
And let my mind and spirit be refreshed.
Hail to the House of Mundilfæri!
It’s hard sometimes to keep a regular practice going. Work and school schedules, kids and or partner running you ragged, or maybe you just don’t feel well that day. It’s okay. You have permission to do what you need for self-care. Pick back up when you can. The Kindreds are always waiting for you.
